Integrated Logistics Support
The advent of new technologies and the increasing complexity of today's information technology and transformational communication systems, combined with limited resources and reduced budgets, mean that it is essential that all aspects of system support are treated as an integrated whole. TCI's ILS team has the proven ability to reduce support costs by providing "performance based" and "demand based" alternatives to arrive at the "cost effective" solution. Using PBL guidelines we also minimize the logistics footprint through the use of PBA and PSI solutions. This includes dealing with supportability elements such as operations and maintenance planning; manpower, personnel, and training; supply support; support equipment; packaging, handling, storage, and transportation; facilities; technical data; and computer resources for performance-based capabilities at the system, component or unit level. Our goal is to attain ILS certification for Fleet introduction, while minimizing costs.
TCI's ILS staff utilizes PBL as the management framework strategy for equipment/system product support that employs the purchase of support as an integrated performance package designed to optimize system readiness. It meets performance goals for an equipment/system through a support structure based on performance agreements with clear lines of authority and responsibility. The DODD 5000.1, DODI 5000.2, and DON PBL Guide policy emphasizes KPPs and supportability strategies, acknowledging that the key to effective and affordable performance is a comprehensive and early emphasis on increased reliability, reduced logistics footprint, and performance-based product support strategies. FLE is an integrated set of initiatives to achieve end-to-end customer service within logistics operations that we utilize in the development of logistic support plans and products.
