Prime Mission Products Engineering

Our primary goal for prime mission products engineering is to provide design synthesis to translate functional and performance requirements into design solutions that consider internal and external interfaces for a total systems approach. Our design solutions include meeting OSA, JTA, SCA, and TCA requirements through a cost-effective combination of design analysis, modeling, prototype/EDM testing, and formal T&E. TCI provides engineering analyses; requirements analysis and testing requirements, and IPPD, IPT, and TWG support; to accomplish this.

TCI provides recommendations to C4ISR system design reviews, including HW and SW architectures in the context of a total capability engineering approach (platform, C3, and weapons systems). This includes but not limited to, integration of combat systems and C4ISR interfaces; requirements traceability measures of effectiveness; insertion of new technology; and analyses of construction and support costs. TCI provides engineering analysis, reviews, studies, documentation and recommendations related to C4ISR development, integration, test, and interoperability including:

  • Perform RF signal transmission analysis including propagation of radio waves, phased array and hyperbolic antenna design, TWT and SSA power amplification, and modulation of RF carriers.
  • Provide a noise studies such as sources of noise, effects of noise on communications, system noise temperature, SNR, BER, and satellite to terminal link margins.
  • Review communication features including spread spectrum, turbo-modems, optical and laser communications, error correcting codes, encoding/decoding, error detection/correction, data depression, encryption/authentication, LPI/AJ/LPD, and UDP/IP.
